Event: The Melbourne Salon “Georges Perec: The Australian Connection, 30 Years On”

The French writer Georges Perec, author of La Disparition (a novel he wrote without once using the letter “e”) is recognised as one of the most influential and inventive writers of his generation.

Thirty years after Perec’s lecture at the Melbourne Alliance Française in 1981, the Melbourne Salon presents “George Perec: The Australian Connection, 30 Years On”. The event includes a lively discussion with Norie Neumark, Maria Miranda and Raphaël Trantoul, chaired by Philip Thiel. In addition, Philip Thiel and Julien Leyre will run a free writing workshop in French and English using simple Perecquian constraints.
