This August, Stork Theatre presents Simone de Beauvoir, a play about France’s femme fatale of feminism, at the Alliance Française de Melbourne.
Trailblazing French philosopher, public intellectual, novelist and lover, Simone de Beauvoir stands at the centre of the Western feminist tradition. This groundbreaking new play focuses on the conflicts and passions of Beauvoir as she endeavors to live a life of freedom.
Playwright and novelist, Judith Armstrong, Principal Fellow, Faculty of Arts, University of Melbourne, and writer of the acclaimed adaptation of Crime & Punishment, will explore the nature of this flawed genius.
When? August 5 to 28, Wednesdays to Saturdays at 8pm, Sundays at 3pm.
